Is staging about to go live?

Paste a page's HTML and see what will break at launch: a noindex tag left on, a canonical pointing at staging, links to the staging host.

Launch check for one page

This page

—

Checks one page's HTML. The Mac app checks every page, plus HTTP headers, redirects, robots.txt and the sitemap.

    robots.txt tester

Can Google crawl this URL? Uses the rules in RFC 9309: the longest match wins, and Allow wins a tie.

    The Mac app

The free tools check one page.
    Prooflight checks the whole launch.

Point it at staging, or at the old site and the new one. It crawls every page from your Mac and gives you a list of what will break when you switch over.

    • Launch blockers first. noindex, Disallow: /, canonicals and links pointing at staging, http pages that don't redirect to https.
    • Your redirect map, verified. Import the old-to-new CSV and see every URL that 404s, loops or lands in the wrong place.
    • A report the client signs. A PDF with your logo, the launch checklist and what was fixed.
    • Then it keeps watching. Re-crawls on a schedule and tells you only what changed since launch day.
    • Accessibility basics. Automated WCAG 2.2 A and AA checks. They cover part of WCAG, and the report says so.
    • Private. The crawl runs on your Mac. Client sites and results never reach a server of ours.

Prooflight for Mac is in development.

Launch day, and every week after

    1. 1

      Crawl staging

Password-protected staging works. Ignore robots.txt on hosts you own.

    2. 2

      Fix the blockers

Each finding says what's wrong, where, and how to fix it on WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Netlify.

    3. 3

      Hand over the report

A sign-off PDF the client can keep. Proof the launch was checked.

    4. 4

      Keep the baseline

Scheduled re-crawls compare against launch day, so a plugin update that adds noindex doesn't go unseen.

    The fair deal

    1

    Pay yearly or pay once

Your choice. Either way you get the same app.

    2

    Stop renewing, keep everything

Keep the last version from your paid year, with every feature, forever. Your saved crawls still open. Only later versions need a renewal.

    3

    Your price stays your price

The yearly price you start at is the price you keep for as long as you renew.

    4

    Yearly price, yearly work

Keeping checks current as search engines and WCAG change, updating the accessibility engine, and supporting each new macOS.

    5

    Your clients' sites are yours

No account. The crawl runs on your Mac and the results stay there. CSV and JSON export is free on every tier, including free.

    Planned pricing

    Free

    $0

Up to 500 URLs per crawl, every check, CSV and JSON export.

    Studio

    $299 a year

    or $749 once

Everything in Solo for up to five people at your agency.

Prices in USD and may change before launch. A 14-day trial of everything, no card needed.

    When another tool fits better

Prooflight is for checking launches and migrations. For other jobs we'd point you here.

    • Screaming Frog: deep technical SEO crawling on Windows, Mac and Linux
    • Sitebulb: visual audit reports, and cloud crawling for big teams
    • Ahrefs Webmaster Tools: free ongoing audits for sites you can verify
    • Scrutiny: a one-off-price Mac crawler for link checking and SEO
    • A manual accessibility audit: the only way to cover all of WCAG

    What we don't do

    • We don't track rankings, keywords or backlinks (that needs a data service; Ahrefs and Semrush do it well)
    • We don't crawl from our servers (your Mac does the crawling; nothing goes through us)
    • We don't claim a site is "WCAG compliant" (automated checks can't prove that)
    • We don't give you an "SEO score" (you get a list of problems and how to fix them)
    • We don't lock you out (stop paying and the app keeps working)
